Mass Effect 3 broke my heart

I played the new mass effect 3 last week. And I was chocked when I got to the end, this is not news a lot of people have said the same thing. Gamers all over the world have collected money and pleaded with Bioware to give them a new ending, to no avail. My biggest surprise was the response the fans got from Bioware, they gave them the speech of artistic freedom and that they were sticking to the vision they had. But if you create a universe and invite people in you have a moral responsibility, if you say that your choices matter then you cannot take away the final choice. All gamers that played the game put down a lot of hours of their life to make Commander Shepherd come to life and it is not right for Bioware to take his or her fate in their hands when it really matters. Then they should have made the game differently in the first place. It is like they think that we will not play the game online if the end is too satisfactory.

And I cannot answer for anybody but for me the online game looses all its appeal when I know that I can unify the galaxy, save all the species possible and it will not make any difference because Shepherd fails in the end anyway.  The Commander does not make any difference it is 16 endings but in truth it is just one. The end of the world they so lovingly created and the thing that kills me is that they made me care about the people in this universe and I for one would have loved to play an online game in rebuilding the worlds after the war as a continuum on the story. It would not even have to be about Shepherd. It could be that you would had to create a new cadet in the alliance fleet or have had your own choice of origin a lovely game and needed in this time of war and chaos all around us. To see that there is hope means so much to so many. And to me as a fellow artist it is our responsibility to make the world a better place because in the end we have the power to do so. It cannot come down to how much money you can make and then try to pass it off as artistic freedom.

I have made a vow to myself I will never buy another Bioware game as long as I live if they do not take their responsibility and hear their fans pleads for help. It is the staggering figure of 91% of the people they owe everything that do not like the ending of their game. That has to mean something. I am a big Bioware fan, I have almost all their games but it ends now. I will not be disappointed like this again, like any bad relationship it has to end.

If they have something up their slew it is time to reveal it, if it is a way to continue the story, or if it all was a bad dream of Shepherd come out and say it before it is too late. I will now play Dynasty Warriors 7 and fraternize with the heroes of China and put Shepherd in the past because as it is now she is in suspended animation, I will never finish this game with the ending they gave me then I would rather create my own. Call it artistic freedom.
